Trump thanks China and Russia for helping achieve the Iran-related agreement and urges Netanyahu to be grateful
During an interview with The New York Times, Trump highly praised the roles played by the leaders of China and Russia in resolving the Middle East conflict.
Trump also delivered a stern criticism toward Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu. According to a report from Ma'ariv, Israel stated that its military would not withdraw from Lebanon and would not be bound by the terms of the agreement. Speaking about Netanyahu, Trump said, “He’s a difficult person to deal with. Frankly, he should be extremely grateful. If Iran acquires nuclear weapons, Israel wouldn’t last two hours.”
The Iranian Supreme National Security Council has confirmed the implementation of the agreement: all fronts will immediately cease fire permanently, including the battlefield in Lebanon, and maritime blockades will be lifted simultaneously. The Memorandum of Understanding will be signed in Switzerland on June 19. Iran estimates its damage at $300 billion and demands that the U.S. and its allies submit a reconstruction plan for the country.
Due to these developments, Brent crude oil prices have fallen below $84 per barrel for the first time since March this year.
