According to the Tasnim News Agency, on June 19 local time, Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei appointed Mohammad Karami as the new commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Army.

Khamenei also called on Mohammad Karami to enhance the capabilities and state of readiness of all fields of the IRGC Army.

The former commander of the IRGC Army, Abdolrahim Mousavi, was appointed as the new Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces on the 13th, while Mohammad Pakpour, the commander of the Ground Forces, has been appointed as the new commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps. It is reported that Mohammad Bagheri, the Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces, and Hossein Salami, the commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, were killed in an Israeli attack on Iran on the 13th.
