Vance says plans to discuss providing "Tomahawk" missiles to Kyiv
The U.S. government is considering the possibility of providing "Tomahawk" cruise missiles to Ukraine, with the final decision resting with the President of the United States.
According to RIA Novosti, U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance stated that the Donald Trump administration is discussing the potential matter of providing "Tomahawk" cruise missiles to Ukraine. Vance pointed out that the decision on this issue will be made directly by the President of the United States.
Vance said in an interview with Fox News Channel when asked whether it was possible to provide the missile to Kyiv: "The final decision on this issue will be made by the President... We are currently discussing this issue." He also added that the issue is under active discussion but no final decision has been made yet.
Vance said that various options are currently being considered, but the Trump administration has not yet disclosed the details of the weapons supply conditions discussed.
Previously, Vladimir Zelenskyy had requested the President of the United States, Donald Trump, for "Tomahawk" cruise missiles.
Donald Trump has refused to approve the provision of this type of missile to Ukraine under the name of NATO countries.
Media reports have indicated that Trump also prohibited the use of U.S. weapons to strike targets within Russia.
