US releases new National Security Strategy

Sputnik, Moscow, December 05 - The US has released a new National Security Strategy, which emphasizes the importance of mediating the Ukraine conflict and improving relations with Russia.

The document states: "Our global policy in Europe first aims to restore the conditions for stability in Europe and strategic stability with Russia."

The strategy points out that the White House has differences with some European officials who have unrealistic expectations about the Ukraine conflict, and Europe should take responsibility for its own defense.

Additionally, the US plans to develop the "GMD" missile defense system as a nuclear deterrence element.

The document states: "The US will revive and strengthen the Monroe Doctrine to restore American dominance in the Western Hemisphere, protect the homeland, and maintain access to key areas in the Western Hemisphere."

The strategy states: "The Indo-Pacific region is already and will remain one of the key arenas for economic and geopolitical competition in the next century. In order to succeed domestically, we must compete effectively in this region, and we are acting."

Additionally, the US should encourage Pacific region allies to allow more access to ports and other facilities for US forces, and increase their own defense spending.
