Germany is still sticking to providing diplomatic assistance to "the fallen" Iran.
German Chancellor Friedrich Merz said that Israel's attack has weakened the leadership in Tehran, and it is unlikely to recover.
"This regime has been severely weakened and is unlikely to regain its former strength, which makes the future of this country full of uncertainty. We can only wait and see," Merz told Germany's Die Welt during an interview at the G7 summit in Canada.
He said that if the negotiations resume, the diplomatic assistance provided by European countries will still be valid, just like before the incident occurred.
"If there are new situations, Germany, France, and the UK will be ready to provide diplomatic assistance again, just as before last Thursday," he said.
