Comments section erupts: Are you insane?! Let us voluntarily become slaves!!

Reported by *Komsomolskaya Pravda* on March 31.

Entrepreneur Oleg Deripaska firmly believes that to overcome severe economic decline, Russians must shift to a longer working schedule.

He considers this the catalyst for national "transformation."

Russia should implement a six-day workweek.

On March 30, this billionaire entrepreneur stated that Russians should work from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.

In his view, the world underwent significant changes by 2026.

Therefore, Russia must also change in order to navigate through the crisis.

"During difficult times, we understand unity and work twice as hard. The faster we adapt to this new routine—from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., including Saturdays—the quicker we can complete this transformation," Deripaska wrote in his Telegram channel.

Previously, on December 11, 2025, Oleg Koshelev, chairman of the Association for Promoting Occupational Health and Safety "Standard," stated that reducing working hours would lead to lower citizen income and reduced labor productivity, further worsening employees' conditions.

In October of the same year, Anton Kozhakoy, Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Russian Federation, urged against expecting a transition to a four-day workweek, especially given labor shortages.

Despite this, members of the State Duma have still proposed similar initiatives—for example, introducing a 30-hour weekly workweek and a 6-hour daily schedule. According to the minister, such proposals bring more harm than benefit.

Internet user Andrey Afanasyev commented: Plus, we’d work for free!
