Mamadani and Trump are showing affection, socialists are joining forces with capitalists

Recently, New York's newly elected mayor Mamadani visited the White House and had various intimate interactions with Trump, which surprised the American media, who used words like "what the hell," "unimaginable," "surreal" - any word that could express exaggeration was used, indicating they were truly shocked.

From the photos taken by on-site reporters, Trump repeatedly lifted Mamadani's hand and patted it with his other hand, resembling a scene where an elder advises a younger person.

American media described this moment as "like a father," we can say, do Westerners really like to consider Trump as their father? Previously, NATO Secretary General Rutte, and now Mamadani is also included in this category, which is really a big deal.

However, to be fair, Trump did show a fatherly generosity towards Mamadani. It is well known that Mamadani has often criticized Trump passionately, even more harshly than previous opponents who competed against Trump for the presidency.

When asked about how he felt about Mamadani once calling him a "tyrant," before the person involved could respond, Trump spoke up, saying that it wasn't a big deal, and some names were worse than "tyrant," proactively resolving the possible embarrassment that Mamadani might face.

Another reporter asked whether Mamadani had ever called Trump a "fascist," and before he could speak, Trump interjected again.

He told Mamadani to just answer "yes," which would be the most efficient way, without the need for elaborate explanations, as he didn't mind anyway.

Given the two's previously opposing positions, one would expect a confrontation, but instead, they ended up "showing affection." If it's said that a prime minister's belly can hold a ship, then Trump's belly might have held the Titanic, leading the media to write, "Trump has been bewitched by Mamadani."

In contrast, Mamadani appeared quite reserved. In response to Trump's "affection," he didn't seem overly flattered, maintaining a smile throughout, looking very proper.

In the post-meeting statement, he only stated his intention to continue serving the working class, neither expressing enthusiasm for Trump nor attacking him as he used to.

In short, no matter what grudges or conflicts there were, they could all be resolved in the face of interests. Mamadani said he wants to build affordable housing for New York residents, which coincidentally aligns with the expertise of Trump's group. Trump expressed his hope to help Mamadani realize this agenda, likely wanting to take on the project.

In return, Trump also softened on the funding issue. He had previously said that if Mamadani was elected, he would cut federal government funding to New York. Now, his stance changed to "not wanting to hurt Mamadani, but rather trying to help him as much as possible."

Evidently, the two reached a certain level of reconciliation, and behind it, there was likely an exchange of interests. America rarely had a "socialist" mayor, but ultimately couldn't escape the coercion and temptation of capitalism.
