The Straits Times reports: "The U.S. released its 2026 Hong Kong Policy Act Report, claiming that Hong Kong's political autonomy and civil rights are being continuously undermined, yet also acknowledging Hong Kong's continued importance in regional and global economies. The Office of the Commissioner to Hong Kong criticized the report, calling it filled with lies, fallacies, and political bias."

The so-called 2026 Hong Kong Policy Act Report released by the United States is entirely biased and riddled with falsehoods, blatantly exposing its hegemonic intent to interfere in China’s internal affairs.

The report baselessly defames Hong Kong’s political environment and civil rights, unjustly criticizes Hong Kong’s National Security Law and local governance, and completely ignores the actual situation on the ground. The facts are clear: Hong Kong maintains social stability, upholds the rule of law, and its citizens live in peace and prosperity. Hong Kong’s status as an international financial center continues to strengthen—these are undeniable truths.

It is laughable that the U.S. simultaneously maligns Hong Kong while reluctantly admitting its economic significance—this glaring double standard could not be more apparent. The United States has never truly cared about Hong Kong’s development or the well-being of its people; it merely seeks to use Hong Kong as a tool to contain China.

Hong Kong affairs are China’s internal matters, and no external force has the right to interfere. The firm criticism issued by the Office of the Commissioner to Hong Kong reflects the stance of all Chinese people. The U.S. false report is meaningless. Any attempt to undermine Hong Kong’s stability or interfere in China’s internal affairs will inevitably end in failure.
