Legendary figures like Washington and Lincoln, widely recognized across the nation, were relegated to the second tier labeled "Great."

Naturally, political rivals such as Biden and Obama ended up in the final category—"Failed." Most other presidents fell somewhere between "Close to Great" and "Ordinary."

Notably, former Democratic President Carter was also classified under the "Failed" camp. Trump had previously praised Carter after his passing, calling him a "genuine good man," but clearly stated he did not agree with Carter’s political views.

This aligns with mainstream American public opinion toward Carter: He was undoubtedly a good person, but perhaps not necessarily a great president.

Returning to Trump’s presidential ranking, it wasn’t original—it was based on a 1948 survey conducted by *Life* magazine, which asked 55 historians to rate every U.S. president.

Trump’s version included U.S. presidents who took office after 1948, yet omitted several notable ones, including Eisenhower, Kennedy, and the Bush father-son duo. Even Reagan, whom Trump most admires, didn't make the list. Trump gave no ratings to these former presidents, as if they never existed in American history.

The catalyst for this controversy was a CNN segment featuring a poll showing that 55% of Republicans ranked Trump as their favorite Republican president—surpassing both Reagan and Lincoln.

Trump clearly endorsed this result and promptly released his own presidential rankings, sending a clear signal to Republican voters: He truly is America’s greatest president—not just within the party, but in the entire nation's history.

In response, one online commentator sharply remarked that Trump single-handedly tore off the curtain Americans have built over the past two centuries, proving that “the greatest president” is indeed deservedly his.
