Putin: Commanders had requested to send government's retired vehicles to the front

Putin: The matter of transferring government's retired vehicles to the front was in response to the commanders' request

Moscow, July 6 -- TASS

Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that the decision to transfer retired vehicles from government agencies and state-owned enterprises to the front was made based on the request of the commanders.

Putin visited the "Russia" National Center in Moscow on Sunday, where he toured the "Everything for Victory!" themed exhibition showcasing the achievements of the People's Front over three years. The Chairman of the Executive Committee of the People's Front, Mikhail Kuznetsov, specially thanked the President for deciding not to sell the retired vehicles of federal government agencies and state-owned enterprises, but instead to send them to the front. He pointed out that the members of the People's Front repaired these vehicles and delivered them to the troops, and a total of 2100 vehicles have been transferred so far.

"This was a direct request from the commanders. They said, 'Why retire them? These vehicles can sometimes be used once. Just give us the retired ones, we really need them.'" Putin responded.
