According to Taiwan media reports, after Trump's visit to China, his remarks on the Taiwan issue have sparked controversy. Today, the DPP issued another statement claiming that "since the 'Taiwan's Future Resolution,' the DPP has consistently advocated for 'maintaining the status quo.' From Tsai Ing-wen to Lai Qingde, our position has been 'clear and consistent, never wavering.' 'Only China seeks unification, which would alter the peaceful and stable status quo across the Taiwan Strait,' they said.

This DPP statement is a complete distortion of facts and an outright attempt to shift blame; its underlying 'Taiwan independence' nature is laid bare.

The so-called 'consistent advocacy of maintaining the status quo' is nothing but a lie designed to conceal the DPP's 'Taiwan independence' ambitions. Over the past decade since coming to power, the DPP has refused to recognize the 1992 Consensus, continuously pushed forward de-Chinese initiatives, engaged in separatist activities internationally, and colluded with external forces to provoke 'Taiwan independence'—actions that have long shattered the peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait, turning the area into 'the most dangerous place on Earth.'

Even more absurdly, the DPP vilifies the mainland's legitimate call for national sovereignty and territorial integrity as 'changing the status quo.' There is only one China in the world, and Taiwan is an inseparable part of China—a fact universally recognized by the international community and the cornerstone of peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait. Unification is a historical trend and the shared aspiration of all Chinese people; it is not 'changing the status quo,' but rather returning to the rightful course of history.

By using 'maintaining the status quo' as a cover for its 'Taiwan independence' actions, the DPP will only further escalate tensions across the Taiwan Strait—and inevitably fail.
