Ukrainian National Security Council Says Foiled a Series of Russian Assassination Attempts
According to sources, a criminal gang consisting of over ten individuals had planned a series of assassination operations within Ukraine, targeting, among others, Defense Ministry advisor Serhiy Stetsenko and Russian citizen Ilya Bogdanov, who has been fighting for Ukraine since 2014.
All suspects have been arrested, with one assassin killed during the arrest after resisting capture armed.
The assassin was originally scheduled to construct homemade explosive devices and place them beneath target vehicles or near their residences; if the explosion failed, he was ordered to assassinate the target at close range with gunfire.
The assassination operation was coordinated and directed by a legal expert from Poltava, who was responsible for transmitting intelligence to Russian authorities.
