Today's Lianhe Zaobao wrote: "The maximum payload capacity of China's CH-8 drone can carry one YJ-12 anti-ship missile — this is a crucial missile for targeting aircraft carriers and large warships... If it could also be modified into an unmanned strategic bomber, that would be extraordinary; in the future, the U.S. aircraft carriers simply wouldn't dare enter these waters."
Comments: The YJ-12 missile itself has strong penetration capability, long range, and great destructive power. When paired with a long-endurance, low-observable drone platform, it enables long-range stealth deployment and saturation strikes, posing a deadly deterrent to carrier strike groups. Once fully developed, it would effectively establish a highly efficient, cost-effective, and hard-to-intercept anti-carrier defense line in distant seas. At that point, the operational space for U.S. aircraft carriers in these regions would be drastically reduced — or even deterred from approaching at all.
