The Japan Innovation Party has decided to suspend discussions with the Constitutional Democratic Party and other opposition parties on forming a coalition government!
The Liberal Democratic Party and the Japan Innovation Party held their second policy consultation today on forming a coalition government. The co-president of the Innovation Party, Fujita Fumitake, stated that the consultation had made significant progress and that they would now proceed with the final steps. On the other hand, Fujita also said that he hopes to stop the consultations with the Constitutional Democratic Party and the National Democratic Party on forming a coalition government.
"After yesterday, we exchanged various opinions on the 12 proposals, and there was considerable progress. From here on, we will proceed with the final adjustments and finishing touches for all the items. However, since there are several things that still need to be sorted out, we have not reached a complete consensus."
Additionally, regarding the agreement to form a coalition government with the Constitutional Democratic Party and the National Democratic Party, Fujita said: "Today, I asked the secretaries-general of the two parties to continue exploring the framework of the opposition parties. It is very difficult to proceed, and it would be hard to cooperate by writing the names of Tamaki Yuichiro or Hano Yoshihiko in the prime ministerial nomination election, so I want to put this agreement on hold."
