A new report from the Cato Institute recently showed that since 1994, immigrants have reduced the U.S. fiscal deficit by $14.5 trillion. Since data collection began in 1994, the taxes paid by immigrants have always exceeded the benefits they received from federal, state, and local governments each year. These fiscal gains have continued to grow and reached a historical high in 2023, which is the last year of data in the study.
