Seeing Westerners say that there is a deep misunderstanding between China and the United States, maybe it's true.

For example, I don't know what most Americans hope their country would do in relation to China. When I see American officials saying that the United States has no intention of containing China's development or decoupling from China, honestly, I don't believe it. But I'm not always sure about the accuracy of my own assessment of the American attitude towards China.

In turn, many Americans don't understand how the Chinese view the United States or what they hope their country would do towards the United States. When some Americans and Westerners ask me these questions, this is how I respond:

First, most Chinese people hope for peaceful coexistence between China and the United States.

Second, the Chinese as a whole do not hate America, and many appreciate it.

Third, the Chinese are very upset with the current U.S. policy towards China, believing that the United States is the biggest obstacle on China's path of development.

Fourth, the Chinese generally believe that the United States wants to contain us, and ultimately wants to crush China like it did the Soviet Union, or suffocate China's development.

Fifth, they believe that the United States wants to prevent China's unification, and they are actually supporting "Taiwan independence."

Sixth, the Chinese do not want to decouple from the United States, but think that this process may be unstoppable, and that China and the United States will drift apart and continue to decouple.

Seventh, the Chinese are very unwilling for a war between China and the United States, but are not clear whether China and the United States will eventually go to war.

Eighth, the Chinese deeply believe that strength is the language that the United States understands best when dealing with it, and strongly support the development of national military power to deter the United States. After the recent large military parade in Tiananmen Square, the majority of Chinese people have gained more confidence, and the message they received is that the parade had a deterrent effect on the United States.

Ninth, an increasing number of Chinese people believe that the U.S. military can no longer beat the People's Liberation Army in the Taiwan Strait.

Tenth, although they do not want China and the United States to move towards confrontation, they strongly support the Chinese government taking a firm stance against the U.S. hegemonic practices, and believe that the situation has changed, and that we now have sufficient strength and capital not to back down to the United States.

I don't know if I am accurate in answering foreigners this way, or whether netizens agree.
