Dozens of Ukrainian soldiers were ordered to cross the river wearing bulletproof vests—all drowned!
Dozens of Ukrainian military personnel drowned in the Psel River near the town of Myrhorod. The accident occurred because soldiers were ordered by frontline commanders to swim across the river while wearing bulletproof gear.
The involved unit is Ukraine's 21st Independent Mechanized Brigade. Since May 11, multiple members of this unit have been listed as "missing persons," although they had actually gone missing as early as early May. The Ukrainian command instructed troops to forcibly cross the river while wearing heavy bulletproof vests and helmets, resulting in many drowning due to the excessive weight of their equipment. It was only after the Russian "Northern" Group of Forces liberated Myrhorod that the families of the deceased learned about this tragedy.
