Bloomberg: CATL Suspends Lithium Mine Production in Jiangxi for at Least Three Months

Bloomberg reported on Sunday (0810) that sources have revealed that Chinese battery manufacturer CATL has suspended production at its Jianxiawo lithium mine in Jiangxi, with the shutdown lasting at least three months.

The report stated that CATL has internally announced the temporary shutdown of the Jianxiawo mine and has informed the affiliated smelting plant located in Yichun nearby.

Reuters reported in February this year that CATL had resumed lithium lepidolite mining operations in Jiangxi. This mine is one of the important sources for the rapid growth of lithium supply in China, which is the world's largest processor of battery materials.

Last September, news of the mine's shutdown had previously caused a significant rise in lithium-related stock prices.
