The Russian military tested protective devices for FPV drones at a test site in Rostov Oblast, using various nylon netting and metal mesh covers. According to the test results, metal mesh covers provided better protection, especially those made of spring steel wire with strong flexibility. However, these covers still could not withstand continuous attacks from FPV suicide drones.
Practical tests have shown that installing covers on ordinary civilian vehicles is not very meaningful, as even if the suicide drone's warhead explodes outside, the fragments and metal jet produced can easily penetrate the vehicle body and cause fatal injuries to the personnel inside.
