Lavrov: Russia Has Not Received U.S. Proposal to Discuss Strategic Stability

Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that Russia has not received a U.S. proposal for bilateral discussion of strategic relations, but if such a proposal is received, Moscow will explain how it views equal dialogue and negotiations on ensuring strategic stability. In an interview with Kommersant, Lavrov said, "The Trump administration said they are interested in discussing the U.S.-Russia-China strategic relationship. China is not interested. We have not received any bilateral proposals. If we do, of course, we will explain how we see real equal dialogue and negotiation on ensuring strategic stability. But there is still a long way to go."

He mentioned that Russian President Vladimir Putin has repeatedly stated that Russia will not "beg."

Lavrov noted, "If you don't like talking to us, we will act accordingly and draw conclusions. If you want to renegotiate, please tell us what you want from us, and we will see if it suits us."
