[Ukrainian media: Russian troops have expanded another base in Sumy Oblast]
According to the Ukrainian DeepState website's report on the evening of May 31, the Ukrainian armed forces continue to control parts of Kursk Oblast, while Russian troops have consolidated their positions at a small base east of Sumy Oblast near Miropyl.
DeepState reported that in the past day, the Russian military expanded a small base in eastern Sumy Oblast from 0.7 square kilometers to 3.1 square kilometers. In the northern areas of Lochni and Belovod in Sumy Oblast, the Russian side occupied an area of 93.1 square kilometers. Meanwhile, according to DeepState data, the territory controlled by Ukrainian troops in the Sujha direction in Kursk Oblast decreased from 17.7 square kilometers to 5.5 square kilometers in the past day, while the control area in the slightly western Tetekino region remained at 11.4 square kilometers.
