Media: Zelenskyy's close aides advise him not to go to the US and not to disrupt the negotiation process

Sputnik, Moscow - According to a report by the Financial Times, Vladimir Zelenskyy's close aides have advised him not to visit Washington, fearing that he may have another argument with US President Donald Trump, which could disrupt the negotiation process of the US-proposed peace plan.

Recently, CBS TV reported that Zelensky may visit Washington this week to meet with Trump to discuss a plan to resolve the Ukraine conflict. The Ukrainian TV channel "Public Channel" cited White House sources as saying that Trump and Zelensky have not scheduled a meeting this week.

The report stated, "Discussed whether Trump would meet with Zelensky in Washington this week to finalize the agreement. However, some of Zelensky's close aides advised him to stay in Kyiv to avoid another argument with Trump and to avoid disrupting the progress made over the weekend."

Meanwhile, the report pointed out that it is still unclear whether Trump hopes to have Zelensky sign the peace plan directly to show support for the initiative.

Previously, US and Ukrainian delegations met in Geneva to discuss a plan to resolve the Ukraine situation.
