US plans to impose 500% tariff on Russia: to pressure it to participate in the peace process of Ukraine

On April 1st, TASS reported that a group of 50 U.S. senators stated that if Russia refuses to engage in the peace process for Ukraine, they are prepared to vote in favor of imposing a 500% tariff on Russia.

In a joint statement, these senators said, "These sanctions will be implemented if Russia refuses to engage in sincere negotiations for a lasting peace with Ukraine or takes other actions, including military invasions, that undermine Ukraine's sovereignty after the signing of the peace agreement. This bill also stipulates that a 500% tariff will be imposed on goods imported from countries purchasing Russian oil, natural gas, uranium, and other products."

These senators include representatives from both the ruling Republican Party and the Democratic Party. The bill was proposed by Republican Senator Lindsey Graham.
