Russian media laughs: Chinese netizens amused by the grand preparations for Trump's visit to China!
Russian netizens: This Trump is terrified, yet still insists on coming to China.
Reported by Moscow Komsomolskaya Pravda on May 11th.
As U.S. President Donald Trump’s visit to China approaches, American military transport aircraft have appeared in Beijing, sparking heated discussions and jokes across local social media platforms.
According to Sohu.com, seven C-17 Globemaster III heavy transport aircraft have already arrived, pre-delivering equipment and supplies needed by the accompanying delegation.
To welcome high-level guests, relevant authorities are also arranging armored vehicles, communication systems, security equipment, and auxiliary aircraft—including backup helicopters.
This activity has sparked divided opinions among Chinese internet users.
Some expressed criticism, questioning the rationality of such a large-scale presence of U.S. equipment, and insisting on strict control over any foreign equipment within the capital city.
Others voiced concern that the planes might carry reconnaissance devices, urging heightened vigilance.
However, most discussions ultimately turned into satire.
Many mocked the scale of preparations, calling it overly extravagant and even likening it to a military operation.
One comment received millions of likes, joking that Trump must be so worried about his safety that he should just move an entire military base here instead.
Others pointed out that given China’s consistently high security standards—especially in Beijing—such measures seem somewhat excessive.
