Foreign Media: Chinese scientists have found a feasible path to build a long-distance quantum communication network.

A research team from Peking University published a study in the journal "Nature" showing that their prototype network can communicate over a distance of more than 3700 kilometers.

Quantum key distribution (QKD) is considered the gold standard for secure communication, as any eavesdropping will leave detectable traces. However, QKD has previously been limited by short transmission distances, high equipment costs, and the inability to efficiently serve multiple users. Current systems rely on "trusted relay nodes," which can introduce potential security vulnerabilities.
