Iran Moves Oil Amid Israel Attack Threat, Involving China
According to Bloomberg and satellite images on June 19, Iran is urgently exporting oil from terminals such as the island of Kharg to prevent potential Israeli airstrikes on infrastructure. Samir Madani, co-founder of TankerTrackers, confirmed that the floating roof of the storage tanks on Kharg Island has been raised to the top, indicating a high level of inventory. Satellite images from the 17th showed that all tankers in the anchorage area had left.
Data shows that after Israel launched "Operation Lion Rise" on June 13, Iran's average daily oil exports surged to 2.33 million barrels, an increase of 44% compared to the previous year's average. Madani analyzed: "They are clearly shipping as much oil as possible, with security being the primary consideration." The densely packed ground storage facilities on Kharg Island are more vulnerable to airstrikes than bulk tankers in the Persian Gulf, and China is one of Iran's main destinations for crude oil.
Currently, Iran and Israel continue to attack each other. On the 19th, Iran fired its first ballistic missile with cluster warheads at Israel, hitting the Soroka Hospital in Beersheba; in response, the Israeli side announced it would intensify its strikes against Iran.
