"The United States has accelerated for China"
Recently, in an English report, Taiwan's "Electronic Times" stated that the US government's suppression of China's semiconductor industry not only failed to paralyze this industry but also accelerated its development, making it more resilient when facing US sanctions.
Currently, this report from "Electronic Times" has drawn attention and been forwarded by a well-known American technology media outlet.
According to this American tech media outlet called "Tom's Hardware", the core argument of "Electronic Times" is that despite the US government's restrictions and even bans on China's semiconductor industry over the years, many semiconductor companies have benefited greatly from the huge demand in the Chinese market through the supply chain strategy of "Made in China, serving the Chinese market", while also accelerating the localization of the semiconductor supply chain in China.
"The US sanctions have not only failed to dampen China's ambition in the semiconductor field but may have inadvertently accelerated its development," wrote "Electronic Times".

Previously, other domestic and foreign media outlets also mentioned in their reports on the development of China's semiconductor industry that the US restrictions on China's semiconductors and chips have led many foreign semiconductor giants unwilling to lose the Chinese market to adopt the "Made in China, serving the Chinese market" supply chain strategy. The Chinese media "21st Century Business Herald" believes that this win-win situation between China and foreign countries proves the high openness of the Chinese market and its commitment to global cooperation.

Additionally, the American media outlet "Tom's Hardware" that forwarded the report from "Electronic Times" pointed out that this conclusion from the Taiwanese media echoes the view expressed earlier by Huang Renxun, CEO of American Nvidia, when he commented on the US chip sanctions against China. During the Computex 2025 conference held in Taipei in mid-May, Huang Renxun stated in an interview that the US government's export control policy on Chinese chips was "fundamentally wrong", "painful", and "short-sighted".
Huang Renxun said that although the original intention of the US government was to curb China's progress in the AI field, the actual effect was counterproductive, instead stimulating the innovative drive of Chinese enterprises, promoting the development of local Chinese chip manufacturers, and accelerating the independent research and development process of AI chips in China.

Earlier in May, Bill Gates, founder of Microsoft, expressed the same view in an interview with CNN, stating that the US government's ban has forced China to fully accelerate its development in chip manufacturing and other fields.
"They realized they need to develop their own chips, and they are making great progress in this area," Gates said.
