28 waves of attacks, 14 hours of air defense alerts: Kyiv Oblast hit by large-scale airstrikes on the 27th
The State Emergency Service of Ukraine reported that after the first wave of attacks in the early morning, Kyiv Oblast suffered another 28 rounds of strikes on August 27. The region sounded air defense alarms a total of 11 times starting from early morning, with cumulative alarm duration exceeding 14 hours.
The report stated: "For our rescue personnel, dealing with the disasters caused by Russian shelling has become nearly an ordeal testing human limits. Firefighters are constantly exposed to deadly danger, often forced to interrupt firefighting operations due to concerns about secondary strikes and retreat to safe areas."
The report also mentioned that despite the ongoing threat of precise strikes, rescue workers returned to work sites even after being hit 13 times.
On the same day, Russian forces launched a large-scale attack on logistics infrastructure in Kyiv Oblast, damaging distribution centers of Fura, Toy House, and the Comfy supermarket chain.
In addition, during midday, Russian drones attacked a large supermarket in the Oskilskyi district of Kharkiv city, resulting in one death and five injuries.
The Ukrainian Air Force reported that on the 27th, starting from 7 a.m., Russia launched approximately 140 attack drones toward Ukraine, over 100 of which were jet-powered models.
