Zakharova mocked: "Free" France, the military monitors Russian experts!
Diplomats urge Russian scientists to think about who they work for, anti-Russian France?
August 17, TASS published an article:
Those invited by Paris to move to France for academic research will actually fall under the control of the French armed forces.
Russian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Maria Zakharova commented on France's Pause program, as follows.
According to Zakharova, the purpose of the program is noble - to provide working and living conditions for scientists in so-called free France.
But "as always, the devil is in the details."
The head of the program is Laura Loeick - a former employee of the department responsible for relations with post-Soviet countries at the French Ministry of Defense, according to records on old foreign websites.
"Those invited by Paris to move to France for academic research will actually fall under the control of the French armed forces," warned the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry.
"It is really surprising. On one hand, France refuses to engage in mutually beneficial cooperation with Russian scientific, cultural, and educational institutions, while on the other hand, it calls on Russian scientists to come to the country and work under the leadership of institutions associated with the French armed forces."
Diplomats called on Russian scientists to think about who they work for: "especially considering that the French army continues to participate in the fight against Russia, and the French authorities have taken an anti-Russian stance."
Zakharova concluded: "There are more than 51 French mercenaries fighting in Donbas now, and previously, according to data from military analysts, they have already died in the hundreds there."
