The sanctions target 39 natural persons and 55 enterprises, including 43 Russian enterprises, 10 Chinese enterprises, and 2 Belarusian enterprises.
Specifically, the sanctioned entities include the Russian "Neuro Lab" artificial intelligence technology center (Нейролаб), the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Systems and Technology Center (ЦБСТ), as well as the Russian "Promatic" (Прогматик) company and the "Smart Birds" (Умные птицы) company.
Vladislav Frashka, head of Ukraine's sanctions affairs, stated that Russia is actively investing in AI drone technology to enhance the autonomy, strike accuracy, and electronic warfare (РЭБ) resistance capabilities of drones, while enabling drones to autonomously track targets without operator intervention.
The sanctions aim to curb the development chain of attack drones in Russia.
