According to the latest Reuters/Ipsos poll, Democrats have seen a boost in morale after winning recent state and local elections, and seem more willing to vote in the upcoming congressional election than Republicans. 44% of self-identified Democratic voters said they are "very enthusiastic" about voting in next year's midterm election, compared to only 26% of Republicans who gave the same answer.

The poll shows that more voters support Democratic policies on cost of living and democratic values, while more voters support Republican policies on immigration and crime fighting.

Trump's approval ratings remain at their lowest level since he took office in January this year. Since mid-May, his support has fluctuated within one to two percentage points of the current level in each Reuters/Ipsos poll. The proportion of people dissatisfied with his performance has increased from 52% in mid-May to 58% in the latest survey.

Compared to August, Democrats' self-doubt has decreased, with the proportion of those who agree that "the Democrats have lost their way" dropping from 49% in August to 39% currently.
