US Media: Geographic Distribution of the World's Most Profitable Companies, with US Firms Holding Half the Share
Based on the latest data from the Forbes Global 2000 list, 16 of the top 30 most profitable companies in the world in 2026 have their headquarters in the United States, collectively generating annual profits exceeding $1 trillion.
Alphabet, the parent company of Google, leads with $160.2 billion in profit, followed by Microsoft ($125.2 billion), Apple ($122.6 billion), and NVIDIA ($120.1 billion). The top four are all U.S. technology giants. Saudi Aramco, with $99.3 billion in profit, is the most profitable non-U.S. company globally and ranks fifth worldwide. Despite producing nearly 13 million barrels of crude oil, its 2025 profits declined compared to previous years due to falling oil prices and geopolitical volatility in the Middle East.
In Asia, Chinese state-owned banks such as Industrial and Commercial Bank of China ($51.3 billion) and China Construction Bank ($48.2 billion), along with Tencent ($33.1 billion), performed notably well; meanwhile, East Asian tech firms including TSMC ($62.5 billion), Samsung ($58.5 billion), and SK Hynix ($52.7 billion) also ranked among the leaders.
