Reuters reported that on April 7th, U.S. President Donald Trump told reporters at the White House that selling energy to the European Union would become a focus for his administration in eliminating the trade deficit with the EU.
Trump accused European countries of not purchasing enough American goods.
"The EU has not been treating us well," he said. "They will have to buy energy from us because they need energy, and they must also purchase from us. If they buy (energy), we can cut the deficit by $35 billion in a week."
