Foreign media: South Korean defense giant Hanwha Group plans to sell its upcoming anti-ship ballistic missile (CTM-ASBM) to the Philippines, with development expected to be completed by 2028.

This move comes amid China's sanctions against South Korea's shipbuilding industry, showing South Korea's further alignment with the U.S. Indo-Pacific policy and deepening its relationship with U.S. allies in regional defense cooperation.

The CTM-ASBM will be equipped with Hanwha's K239 Chunmoo mobile multiple rocket launcher system, suitable for various types of ammunition, including short-range ballistic missiles and medium-range rockets. The missile is mainly aimed at countries with extensive coastlines or islands, such as the Philippines.
