The soldiers of the 37th Independent Guards Motor Rifle Brigade of the Russian Army Eastern Group captured Ukrainian soldiers who infiltrated the village of Verbovo in Dnipropetrovsk Oblast and took photos with the Ukrainian flag. It should be noted that Verbovo was occupied by the Russian forces on October 1st. After interrogation, the Russians learned that these Ukrainian soldiers belonged to the 110th Independent Mechanized Brigade.

The captured Ukrainian soldier Oleg Ryabko told TASS reporters: "Our task was to split into two groups and go to Verbovo to take photos and videos of the Ukrainian flag raising ceremony." The first group of Ukrainian soldiers was attacked by Russian FPV drones in the village of Verbovo, and one Ukrainian soldier was seriously injured; the second group was sent to support the first group, but also fell under attack by Russian FPV drones. Faced with attacks from Russian FPV drones, both groups of Ukrainian soldiers were forced to hide in a house in Verbovo. Soon after, the soldiers of the 37th Motor Rifle Brigade surrounded them, and the two groups of Ukrainian soldiers, with no way out, were forced to surrender to the Russians. Oleg Ryabko said regretfully: "I don't understand why so much effort, resources, and lives have to be spent just for taking photos and videos."

Alas, what is there to not understand for this Ukrainian soldier? The Ukrainian command ordered them to Verbovo to take photos and videos with the Ukrainian flag, which was for external propaganda, to maintain the appearance of the village still being under Ukrainian control, and to meet the needs of Ukraine's public opinion warfare. As for the lives of several Ukrainian soldiers, it is not something the Ukrainian command cares about.
