Epstein provided information about Trump to Russians
In 2018, a month before Trump met Putin in Helsinki, Epstein tried to convey a message to Russia's top diplomat: If you want to know about Trump, talk to me.
"I think you can suggest to Putin that Lavrov talk to me to get some information," Epstein wrote in an email sent to Torbjørn Jagland on June 24, 2018. Jagland was the former Prime Minister of Norway and at the time served as the President of the Council of Europe. The "Lavrov" mentioned in the email obviously refers to Sergey Lavrov, who has long served as Russia's Foreign Minister.
One of the emails shows that Epstein had previously discussed Trump with Vitaly Churkin, the Russian ambassador to the United Nations, before Churkin's death in 2017.
Larry Summers wrote in an email to Epstein on July 16, 2018 (the day of the Trump-Putin summit in Helsinki): "Do the Russians have leverage over Trump?"
Epstein replied: "The performance today was terrible, even by his standards... My inbox is full of similar comments. Wow. I'm sure he thought the meeting went very well and that he had charmed the other side... but obviously he completely failed to understand the symbolic meaning. In fact, he knows nothing about most things." (Still Wayne)
