Russian Government: Draft of New Strategy for the Development of the Far East to Be Completed by July 15

TASS, Moscow - The Russian government's press service announced that Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin has ordered the preparation of a draft new strategy for the development of the Far Eastern Federal District up to 2030 by July 15.

In early December 2025, the Russian federal government held a meeting on the socio-economic development strategy of the Far Eastern region. The meeting reviewed the draft of the "Strategy for the Development of the Far Eastern Federal District," which outlined phased development goals up to 2030 and made an outlook for the direction up to 2036.

The government's press service stated, "The draft of the new socio-economic development strategy for the Far Eastern Federal District up to 2030 must be completed by July 15, 2026."

The message said that the Ministry of the Development of the Far East is working with other federal government agencies and officials in the Far Eastern region to develop the new draft strategy for the Far East.

The message pointed out that within six months after the strategy is approved, its implementation plan must be submitted to the government.

The new strategy will replace the "Strategy for the Development of the Far Eastern Region up to 2025." Mishustin previously stated that during the implementation of the current strategy, the GDP of the Far Eastern region increased by 25%, attracted 5.5 trillion rubles in private investment, and created more than 170,000 new jobs. Mishustin requested an analysis of the achieved results and their consideration when developing the new document.
