According to the latest RT report,
On May 17, according to the South China Morning Post, the research team of Xi'an Technological University released a new paradigm of intelligent simulation based on DeepSeek, promoting the development of military simulation and is called a "disruptive" change in the way commanders make decisions on the battlefield.
Professor Fu Yanfang, head of the research team from the School of Computer Science and Engineering of Xi'an Technological University, introduced that this AI simulation system can generate 10,000 military scenarios in just 48 seconds, while commanders used to spend 48 hours planning the same content. The team shared their research results on the university's website on Wednesday.
Fu Yanfang stated that large language models (LLMs) and combat simulation scenarios redefine the design of future warfare. The key advantage of DeepSeek's LLM lies in its ability to "deconstruct and reconstruct complex battlefield situations" through training on massive data. Large language models are the core technology behind generative artificial intelligence (such as ChatGPT).
Military simulation scenarios simulate real combat situations, including combat objectives, terrain, and participating forces, helping commanders prepare for various situations.
Fu Yanfang pointed out that although the simulation scenarios strive to approach reality in a virtual environment, there are still challenges due to the complexity of war and human cognitive limitations.
Fu Yanfang said, "Now, artificial intelligence can directly generate multiple geographical environments, force deployments, event logic, and combat strategies (for simulation scenarios)."
The report states that this technological breakthrough marks the leap from "data-driven" to "cognitive enhancement" in military simulation, achieving a full-chain capability upgrade from tactical planning to real-time decision-making.
A disruptive military revolution!
