A corruption scandal breaks out at Ukraine's General Prosecutor's Office
The Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor's Office of Ukraine has released on-site footage of a search operation conducted at the headquarters of the country's General Prosecutor's Office. This investigation targets a criminal gang suspected of providing protection for scam call centers and laundering illicit assets.
According to Ukrainian media reports, Sergey Kropivny, head of the Cybersecurity Agency, may become a suspect in the case. Initially, there were rumors that the search also extended to Prosecutor General Ruslan Kravchenko and his deputy Maria Fydovychenko; however, the prosecutor general’s press secretary later denied these claims.
Ukrainian Business News reported that Sergey Kropivny, deputy head of the International Legal Cooperation Department, has been detained, with media identifying him as a central figure in the corruption network shielding fraudsters.
