Vucic: September may meet with Putin in China
Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Sunday that he may meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin in China in early September, at which time US President Donald Trump may also visit China.
Previously, a letter released by the office of the Serbian president showed that China invited Vucic to Beijing to attend the commemoration ceremony for the 80th anniversary of the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War. China celebrates the Day of the Victory of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression on September 3, commemorating the day when Japan signed an unconditional surrender on September 2, 1945.
When Vucic visited the northern town of Banskotor, he told the local residents: "From September 1 to 6, I will be in China for five days. Now someone told me that Putin may also go there, and I may meet him. I heard that Trump may also go there, but I am not sure," Tanjug news agency reported.
Vucic also added that the organizers of the Chinese event invited him to attend the world leaders' banquet to be held in Beijing on September 3, but did not reveal who would attend.
