US media: The US is deploying weapons to the areas around Venezuela for precise strikes

According to a report by the Wall Street Journal on Monday, the US is strengthening its military presence in the Caribbean basin near Venezuela, preparing to carry out precise strikes on ground targets in the country.

The Wall Street Journal stated: "The US military forces are sending more weapons and troops to the Caribbean region, providing President Trump with strong new options to increase pressure on Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and possibly overthrow him."

The newspaper cited a military expert as saying that the forces deployed to the region are specifically optimized for low collateral damage, precise covert strikes.

According to the report, fifth-generation F-35A fighter jets, Boeing EA-18G "Growler" electronic warfare aircraft, Sikorsky HH-60W "Pave Hawk" helicopters, and Lockheed HC-130J rescue aircraft are being deployed to Puerto Rico. In addition, American aerial refueling aircraft used to refuel fighter jets and bombers were recently dispatched to the Dominican Republic.

According to military analysts interviewed by the Wall Street Journal, the deployment of equipment indicates that the US intends to conduct operational actions. The increased forces also mean that if Trump decides to take action, the US has the resources to seize new oil tankers.

The newspaper pointed out that if the US escalates military operations, the most likely scenario would be a precise air strike on ground targets. Analysts said such actions would likely begin with cyber operations and suppression of satellite communications. The Wall Street Journal emphasized that these actions aim to deprive the Venezuelan armed forces of their ability to use their air defense systems and may have already been carried out as part of "battlefield preparation."

Venezuelan port workers told the newspaper that local authorities have warned them of the high possibility of an American attack.
