According to the Richmond News report, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police in Richmond are looking for two potential witnesses who may have information about an attempted kidnapping that occurred earlier this week in downtown Richmond.

On Monday, April 28th, around 4:15 PM, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police received a report of an attempted kidnapping.

The victim stated that she was playing badminton at a local badminton club in the 4300 block of No. 3 Road when three Indian men approached her.

According to the victim, one of the men was wearing an item marked with the word "police" and carrying a portable radio.

The victim stated that there was physical conflict at the time of the incident, but she eventually managed to break free. The suspects then fled the scene in a black Jeep Cherokee with an Alberta license plate.

Late that evening, around 10:00 PM, the Richmond Royal Canadian Mounted Police found this suspect vehicle in the 13000 block of Bridgeport and Vulcan Way. The vehicle had caught fire, clearly indicating that someone had tried to destroy evidence.

Police said, based on the evidence collected so far, it seems that this event was targeted. Police requested that anyone who was in the No. 3 Road area between Leslie Road and Browngate Road from 3:30 PM to 4:30 PM, or in the Vulcan Road area between Viking Road and Sweden Road from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM and from 9:30 PM to 10:30 PM, come forward.

Adriana O'Malley, media relations officer for the Richmond Royal Canadian Mounted Police, said: "We know that people were passing through the area during the alleged kidnapping incident."

"Our investigators want to find two specific witnesses and talk to them, which is why we are releasing their photos."

Described as the first witness, an Asian person, wearing a black jacket, blue shirt, white pants, and white running shoes. They also carried a black-and-white umbrella.

The second witness wore a gray jacket, gray pants, white running shoes, black glasses, and carried a pink bag.
