Trump: Will Continue to Retain Hegseth as Secretary of War
President Donald Trump stated that, despite criticism over Peter Hegseth’s performance, he intends to retain him in the role of Secretary of War.
In an interview with ABC News, Trump said, "I fully intend to keep him in place."
Trump acknowledged receiving calls from individuals expressing dissatisfaction with Hegseth, but noted he did not understand the basis for such concerns.
He also conceded that confirming a new Secretary of War would be easier before the Democrats take control of the U.S. Senate in January of next year.
