US senators prepare for a new round of anti-Russian sanctions!
Reuters reported that 25 Republican senators and 25 Democratic senators proposed a bill regarding new sanctions on Russia by the US.
The document has not yet undergone formal review. The proposal was announced by Republican Lindsey Graham.
The project proposes new sanctions on Moscow and a 500% import tariff on countries purchasing Russian oil, natural gas, uranium, and other products.
The proposers stated that these sanctions will be implemented if Russia refuses to engage in sincere and lasting peace negotiations with Ukraine.
This morning, EU foreign chief Karas called on the US to exert pressure on Russia:
"The US is conducting shuttle diplomacy. But now, we need Russia to accept this ceasefire and show goodwill. I believe the US can also play a role by exerting greater pressure on Russia to end this aggression and war."
