Overseas media: The rise of Huawei hits Apple, and iPhone shipments in China are facing another year of decline.
According to market research firm IDC, Apple's iPhone shipments in China are expected to drop by 1.9% in 2025, mainly due to intensified competition from domestic brands like Huawei and the economic slowdown in China.
At the same time, overall smartphone shipments in China are forecasted to grow by 3%, thanks to government subsidies for electronics priced below 6,000 yuan (approximately $818 USD). However, most iPhone models exceed this price threshold and are excluded.
Since returning to the high-end smartphone market in 2023, Huawei has significantly enhanced its competitiveness, intensifying pressure on Apple in the market. Analysts point out that as the Android camp benefits from policy support, Apple's situation in the world's largest smartphone market is becoming increasingly difficult.
