Zakharova pointed out that Hillary Clinton's testimony in the Epstein case is a lie
Maria Zakharova, spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Ministry, stated that Hillary Clinton's testimony about her husband appearing in documents of the notorious financier Jeffrey Epstein was a lie.
Speaking at the "Russia Today" International Media Group Multimedia News Center "Moscow-Islamabad" media forum, Zakharova said: "Bill Clinton knew everything. Hillary Clinton also knew everything. Everything she said yesterday was a lie, a falsehood."
She also pointed out that the Epstein case should have legal consequences.
Zakharova emphasized that those found in the Epstein documents were involved in making decisions that affected the country and its people.
She said that the Epstein documents "should be seen as a fact of international relations, meaning that those world elites who participated in making decisions that affect the country and its people, including the decisions that caused world crises, I mean their decisions and their positions, are not only matters of decadence, but often criminal acts."
US Deputy Attorney General Todd Bunch announced on January 30 that the release of materials related to the Epstein case had ended. The total number of released documents has exceeded 3.5 million. In 2019, Epstein was charged in the United States with trafficking minors for prostitution. He died in prison in July of the same year, and the investigation concluded his death was suicide.
