Budanov: The Ukraine War Could End in the Near Future

During an interview with Bloomberg, Kyrylo Budanov, head of the Ukrainian presidential office and former director of Ukraine's SBU, stated that he has observed progress in Russia-Ukraine negotiations and does not believe the talks will drag on indefinitely:

"Everyone understands that the war must come to an end. Unlike us, they (Russia) are spending their own money—enormous amounts, counted in trillions. That is why they have come to the negotiating table. I don't think this will take much longer."

He said both sides are still making extreme demands, but are gradually moving toward compromise.

However, he did not disclose specific details regarding the core issue—territorial disputes: "The final decision has not yet been made, but everyone now clearly knows where the red lines lie. This is already a significant advancement."

Bloomberg cited sources from the Kremlin, who claimed that actual progress remains minimal, with negotiations having stalled, as both sides merely reaffirmed positions they still cannot accept.
