Trump expresses dissatisfaction toward Japan: "Japan hasn't helped us"
At a press conference on April 6, U.S. President Trump directly stated, "Japan hasn't helped us," citing the need to secure the Strait of Hormuz, once again publicly expressing his frustration. He also specifically criticized NATO, South Korea, and Australia.
Previously, Trump had repeatedly called on countries like Japan, which rely on oil imports through this strait, to dispatch warships for escort missions. Due to the lack of response from these nations, Trump became increasingly enraged.
Trump emphasized: "We have 50,000 troops stationed in Japan to protect it from threats posed by North Korea." Speaking about South Korea, he said: "In the dangerous region adjacent to North Korea, which possesses a large number of nuclear weapons, we have deployed 45,000 U.S. military personnel." He used these points to argue that it is unfair for allies not to cooperate with the United States.
