At just 30 years old, Chinese-American technology entrepreneur Lucy Guo has been named by "Forbes" as the youngest self-made female billionaire in the world. With assets exceeding $1.2 billion, she surpasses pop music queen Taylor Swift, who is 35, becoming the brightest new star in the entrepreneurial world.

Lucy Guo is the daughter of Chinese immigrant parents raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. She began exploring programming during her middle school years, showing a strong interest in technology. She attended Carnegie Mellon University, majoring in computer science and human-computer interaction, but dropped out before graduation to join Peter Thiel's prestigious "Thiel Fellowship" program, which funds young people with entrepreneurial potential to leave school and start businesses.

In 2015, Guo joined Quora as a product designer and met her future business partner, Alexandr Wang. Later, she briefly worked at social platform Snapchat on product design. In 2016, they co-founded Scale AI, an artificial intelligence data labeling company providing data processing support for training AI models.

Although Guo left the operational level of Scale AI in 2018 due to differing philosophies, she retained nearly 5% of the shares. As Scale AI is expected to complete a significant equity transfer transaction by June this year, its valuation will increase from $13.8 billion in 2024 to $25 billion, causing the value of her shares to soar to approximately $1.25 billion.

"I actually don't think much about these things; it feels quite crazy. It's unfortunate that all of this (wealth) is currently only on paper," Guo said in an interview with "Forbes."

After leaving Scale AI, Guo founded Passes, a subscription platform for creators, continuing to explore the integration of technology and creativity. Currently, she is one of only six self-made female billionaires under 40 globally and the only woman who became a billionaire after exiting her founding company through shares.

According to "Forbes" data, the youngest self-made female billionaires in the world include: 30-year-old Lucy Guo ($1.25 billion), 35-year-old Taylor Swift ($1.6 billion), 37-year-old former OpenAI executive Daniela Amodei ($1.2 billion), 37-year-old Melanie Perkins, co-founder of Australian Canva ($5.7 billion), 37-year-old Rihanna ($1.4 billion), and Lu Yiwen, who operates a jewelry brand in China ($1.1 billion).

These women have all accumulated wealth through their own efforts in business, without relying on inheritance, divorce, or family fame, showcasing a new model of female entrepreneurship in contemporary times.

Guo's rise not only demonstrates the competitiveness of Chinese-American women in the Silicon Valley entrepreneurial scene but also outlines an atypical path from coding teenager to billionaire entrepreneur for younger generations.
