South Korean media: The price of Chinese electric vehicles is only half that of other brands!

On April 30, South Korean media Herald Economy published an article stating that according to the data from the Korea Electric Power Corporation Research Institute, it is expected that global electric vehicle sales will reach approximately 22 million units this year, of which China is expected to consume about 14.5 million units, accounting for 65%.

With its massive purchasing power, Chinese electric vehicle manufacturers are strengthening their control over the global market. BYD has surpassed American Tesla to become the largest electric vehicle manufacturer in the world.

Analysis shows that the price competitiveness of Chinese electric vehicles is also very prominent.

Recently, at a forum hosted by the Korea Automobile Mobility Industry Association, Zhao Zhe, a senior researcher at the Korea Institute of Industrial Economics and Trade, analyzed that "in major automotive markets, the average selling price of electric vehicles from Chinese brands is half that of other brands."

In fact, among electric vehicles sold in Europe, the average price of Chinese brand vehicles is 48,600 euros, while the price of vehicles from other brands is 67,721 euros, which is 40% higher. In Japan, the price of Chinese electric vehicles is about half that of other brands. A similar trend has been observed in most countries.

In South Korea, Chinese electric vehicle brands like BYD have just begun entering the market, and how consumers will respond to their excellent price competitiveness remains highly anticipated.
